The proof is
in the data
One block's data is a guess.
Ten blocks' data is a strategy.
Big Ideas,
Real Impact.
Driven by curiosity and built on purpose, this is where bold thinking meets thoughtful execution. Let’s create something meaningful together.
The goal was never just to put up a few traps. It's to understand whether what we're doing actually works, build the case for expanding what's working, and hand other communities a model they can replicate.
That takes real data, collected block by block, and the scientific rigor to interpret it. We're working with leading mosquito researchers to develop meaningful ways to measure impact, while tracking our community's efforts in real time: traps deployed, catch basins treated, blocks covered, neighbors participating.

The Itty Bitty Portal
We've been logging traps and tracking coverage since the beginning, but our tools weren't built for ongoing maintenance or neighbor coordination. So we're starting over and doing it right.
The portal lets you log your traps and standing water features and their locations, track your maintenance schedule, see who on your block is participating, and zoom out to compare coverage across the neighborhood.
Some Itty Bitty Features
Connect with your block captain — or become one. Sign up and we'll automatically connect you with your block's captain. No captain yet? You'll get the option to step up.
Stay on schedule. Enter your setup once. The portal tracks when it's time to refresh BTi dunks, swap GAT sticky cards, or replenish Mosquitaire sweet scent.
See your block. Know where coverage is holding — and where it's slipping.
Zoom out. Compare coverage across the neighborhood. Celebrate the blocks holding it down and nudge the ones lagging behind.
In the meantime…
The trap logging form is closed and the old map is retired — both had data quality issues we're not comfortable showing.
Here's how to stay in the loop and set yourself up for the portal launch:
Already have traps up? Keep at it — and make sure you're on the mailing list so you'll hear when the portal opens.
Want to report standing water? That still works and still matters. Email DC Health directly (and cc us) and we'll continue tracking complaints as we build out the data pipeline.
Want to become a block captain? Reach out. We need people in place before the portal launches so we can connect new signups with their captains right away.
